Daring Greatly

My new journey started on a foggy morning of January 22, 2017, the day after an inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the President of the United States of America. I was sitting on a bus filled with nasty women and a few brave bad hombres heading to Washington DC to participate in Women's March. It was with my dear, sweet friend and neighbor Marina who asked me the day after the election if I would like to go with her. We booked the bus ticket for $40 round trip and the rest is history. Now the trip and experience of this epic event deserves a chapter of its own. It was a long ride and so we talked and talked. At some point Marina asked me what is it that I want to do with my life once all my 3 kids are in school full time. Marina is my friend for quite some time and she posed this question to me many times over the years. She is the one that encouraged me to do some soul searching. Although I really loved my before-children job as an examiner for the Stock Exchange, dealing with compliance and specifically money laundering, I also knew I don't want to return to a corporate place. I wanted to live life connected with my children; walk them to school in the morning, see them come home and share stories of their day away and cook a meal each and every night. It was then that I admitted to her I started a company called Easy Peasy Design. I love design more than anything in the world; I believe in simple style rooted in uncluttered and organized space while creating cozy and welcoming atmosphere with thing you own and treasure rather than filling your space with disposable and trendy products.

The absolute surprise followed. "You are hired". I took a deep breath and huge load of courage to repel my very vocal vulnerability and doubts that I can do it, not fail and succeed. And that is how my business journey started.

I want to use this blog to share ideas I find inspiring and in line with my design principles. I also want to incorporate and share my mediation practices that go hand in hand with my view of styled, organized and decluttered home. Someone once told me, "how clutter is your space is a reflection of your cluttered mind." I want to share how to let go of what no longer serves you and find purpose, love, joy in your surroundings and gratitude in simple pleasures of life. I want to engage, pay attention and pave my own road with every chance I get.

So I keep moving with resilience, full speed ahead.
